Score Yourself. How many did you miss?
10 RV AREAS YOU FORGOT TO CLEAN

*Light Bulbs are dust magnets. Built-up dust attracts more dust, then bugs, and it also holds odors from cooking, smoke and  room sprays. Clean(cool)  bulbs occasionally with a damp cloth. Don't forget unseen bulbs inside light fixtures.

* Filters. Some filters  can be cleaned.Others must be replaced periodically. It begins with knowing where all the filters in your RV are.  Don’t forget the microwave, vaacuum cleaner, icemaker,  and the exhaust fans over the stove and in the bath.

    * Deep Clean Door Mats/ Floor Mats. I like door mats that hose clean on both sides, then dry fast.  Indoor-outdoor rugs can be laid on the concrete pad, hosed clean and put away dry.  Don’t forget the floor mats in the cockpit.

* Stained dishes. Hand dish washing can’t always remove some stains, such as tomato stains in plastic storage containers. Occasionally give stubborn stains a very hot soak with dishwasher detergent. Wear rubber gloves and rinse well.

    * Use a brush or vacuum crevice tool to coax  crumbs and dust out of deep corners and between the keyboard keys. Get deep into corners and cracks. Mice and roaches are attracted by crumbs. Flea eggs can live forever in the tiniest cracks in flooring. Remotes, phones and keyboards deserve regular attention with antibacterial wipes.

* RV toilets come in many different designs. Don’t neglect spots that aren’t reached by the toilet brush, such as hinges on the lid.

 * Have you checked the vacuum cleaner roller? It may be so matted with hair that it lost its pickup power.

* No matter how careful we are to line trash containers with new plastic bags, icky debris builds up over time.  Wash, dry and sprinkle with a little powdered borax.

*Wood and plastic clothes hangers and plasticized closet shelving can develop clingy, scummy film that holds dust and odors. They can use an occasional antibacterial wipe. Watch metal hangers for rust spots, which claw at clothes.

* Pet bowls. Fido may lick the bowl clean but it’s still sticky with saliva that attracts bugs and breeds germs. Scrub bowls regularly.
